On Thursday, October 25th, NYU Africa House welcomed Mr. Ekpo Una Owo Nta for an informal discussion on his work with the Nigerian Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC). Mr. Una Owo Nta was introduced to us by Professor Offiong Aqua of NYU Steinhardt as a monolith standing boldly in the face of corruption who had been sworn into office just a couple of days prior. He discussed his background and motivations, as well as his aspirations while in his position and how the only way to change the practices inherited by the next generation of Nigerians is through the growth of preventative institutions and education.
